How to retrieve Drop Down List value in the same page

Hi All,

May i know how can i retrieve the Drop Down List Value from the same page?

i have 2 drop down list.
one is CatID and another one is SubCatID

i have CatID displayed from the database
Then when i selected from the CatID, i need it to get the SubCatID base on the selected CatID.

May i know how can i do that?

i know that in Aspx i have the auto postback. how can i do it in JSP?
